Our Organic Rye Spawn Bags are prepared with care on our small farm in California using premium cereal-grade organic rye berries. Each bag is carefully measured, sealed into high-quality 3mm polypropylene filter patch bags, and sterilized under pressure for a full four hours. After sterilization, the bags are left to cool slowly and naturally over an entire day. This gentle cooling process helps preserve the structural integrity and nutritional value of the rye, creating an ideal environment for healthy mycelium growth. Each set contains two bags, with 2.25 to 2.5 pounds of sterilized rye grain per bag. Every bag is equipped with a self-healing high-temperature injection port for easy and sterile inoculation, along with 0.22-micron filter patches that allow optimal gas exchange while protecting against contamination.
